Technology has come a long way over the past few years! Surgeons now have access to some of the best tools available to aid their learning of surgical techniques. We can practice incredibly realistic potential operating room scenarios in 3D!!
Spectacular ice sculpture at tbe Congress
I have just returned from a truly fantastic and successful World Congress. There was a clear and positive focus on patients - what they want, and how the future of obstetrics and gynaecology can ensure this is heard and delivered to them.
Professor Reid below:
I am excited to be involved in the opening ceremony where I will be reading out the names of the distinguished doctors receiving their fellowship.
I will also be chairing the morning session on Tuesday entitled "Patient safety and quality improvement"
Last but not least, I am honoured to be introducing Professor Mark Kilby on Wednesday who will be giving the JY Simpson oration entitled "The foetus as a patient - is this as good as it gets"?
I am delighted to be attending the world congress on behalf of the royal college in my home town next week. The congress in the European Capital of Culture (2008) is naturally completely sold out!
I was honoured when asked to speak recently at the national undergraduate conference at UCL. Here's to the doctors of the future... www.nugsc.com
I have just returned from Royal College duties at the four countries meeting in Amsterdam (France, Netherlands, Germany and England) where obstetric and gynaecology training as well as workforce planning practices were exchanged and discussed.
